Spectrum Chess Clubs can provide a great opportunity for refugees to make new friends who share their interest in chess.

In particular, refugees fleeing the current conflict in Ukraine are coming from a country where chess is very much part of their culture. Some of them will be keen chess players and would welcome the opportunity to be able to connect with like-minded people in a friendly, stress-free environment.

Organisers of Spectrum Chess Clubs would be well advised to make the necessary contacts to encourage new arrivals in their area, from anywhere in the world, who have an interest in chess to come along.
